Visiting the funfair

St. George’s ground is always the venue of the funfair in our town. The colorful moving lights of the merry go around and the giant wheel lure kids and their families in to the park.

There are many rides and games to be played at the funfair. My sister likes to play the hoopla which is a ring that you throw over a wooden post. The ball-in-the basket is fun although the ball tends to bounce out of the basket. Throwing darts is Dad’s favorite game and Mom likes to play hitting the bottle. She wins every time. The gifts are usually soft toys or coupons for ice cream.

I like to sit on the giant wheel and squeal with pleasure as it dips and climbs in the air. Candy floss, fresh flavored popcorn are the highlights of the fun-fair. When its time to leave we are always begging Dad to let us try one more ride. I wish we could visit the funfair every day.
