How many kinds of energy are available?
The energy that is released when chemical reactions take place is called chemical energy. It is stored in substances like food and fuels. Kinetic energy is the energy of movement. Potential energy is the energy possessed by an object that is acted on by a force. Chemical energy that is stored in the food we eat is converted into kinetic energy when we move about.
