Autobiography of A Reporter
Reporters are people who collect information about important or interesting events. Some of them write articles about these events for newspapers. Other gives news reports on radio or television programs. Reporters try to collect the information personally by going to the place where the event is taking place. Sometimes they write notes in their notebook. Sometimes they record information on a tape recorder. Often they give their own comments on the news as well as just giving the facts. Sometimes they quote what people connected with the event have said. This makes a piece of news more interesting to readers or listeners. Reporters write about many different kinds of news. Reporters in local newspapers write about local events. Reporters in national newspapers often write about tragic events such as fatal road accidents, serious fires, murders, and armed robbery. Sometimes they risk their live to collect the news. This is particularly true of reporters who are sent to parts of the world where there are wars. Reporters do a valuable job. It is important that we know about what is going on in the community and in the world around us.
