The Magic Words

Words have a lot of power, and we should use them with care. Please, sorry and thank you are called the magic words because they have incredible power.

The big boys in school love to bully us. One-day Jack from my class accidentally dropped his juice on Sandy’s shirt. Sandy is our senior and a good 11/2 feet taller than us and known for his temper. We knew Jack had it coming that day, but what happened after that shocked us. Jack folded his hands and said, “Sorry Brother Sandy, I dropped it by mistake. Please, please forgive me”. All of us cringed inwardly knowing that it was Jacks turn to get a blow, but instead Sandy just put his arm around Jack and said, “No sweat Jack, I’m alright”. Jack smiled and said, “Thank you, Sandy”.

The magic words, please, sorry and thank you saved Jack from getting beaten up.
