Our World In Years

I look around at the toxic waste we generate each day, the natural resources like coal and petroleum that we plunder, and the resources that we pollute like water and air and it seems as if we are set on the path of self-destruction. We are a generation of thoughtless, selfish people who do not think past our ‘now’, our ‘present’.

Hundred years from now wild animals will be extinct and our children’s children will see them only in picture ‘Zoos.’ The only real animals they will see will be livestock and pets. The forests will be cut down to make space for humans and eventually there will be no trees and one will have to walk down dusty hot roads hoping in vain for respite. The people will be stricken with lung diseases thanks to the pollutants lift with which we are poisoning the air, and drinking water will be scarce.

No doubt we will be wielding fancier computers, the size of a tablets, popping pills that substitute meals and probably even find a compound to replace water. Our cars will run on alternative fuel and we will be forced to use solar heat for energy. It will be a whole new world, far, far different from how we know it today.
