Roller skating
I go with my brother Karan roller skating. Karan is older than me and can skate very well. We don’t have a proper skating rink in our neighbourhood so skating class generally takes place on the smooth road that runs through the middle of our colony.
At first the skating shoes felt very weird. I couldn’t control my movements and kept falling. Slowly, however; the skating teacher showed us how to balance on wheels and at the end of the first class, I was already feeling confident. In the last two months I have become really good at skating. I can jump from the sidewalk onto the road while still on the skates.
Karan participated in the school skating competition and he stood first. Dad gifted him a pair of inline skates. They are awesome. I can’t wait to earn my pair of inline skates.
Shefali dreams with her eyes open. She is always lost in her own world. She dreams in class, she dreams on the bus and sometimes even when we are jogging around the ground.
One day we were reading Alice in Wonderland in class. Shefali was sitting right next to me. The English class got over and the EVS teacher entered. I had to nudge Shefali to stand up to wish the teacher. Suddenly the EVS teacher called out, “Shefali what do you do when the traffic light goes green?” I nudged Shefali once more to stand and before I could prompt her she burst out, “Drink the green solution”. Everybody looked in her direction. We heard Mrs. Reena ask, “What?” and Shivani rushed on “so I can shrink in size and get past the door”. Immediately, we realized that Shivani had been day dreaming that she was Alice in Wonderland. The whole class burst out laughing while the EVS teacher scolded Shivani.
