Stop Worrying and Start Living
There are some things in life we can control and others that we have absolutely no control over. This fact is known to all of us but seldom applied. We have one life and we must make the most of it; the only way to do it, is to live it as it comes. Planning reasonably is good but over planning and then worrying, gets us nowhere.
We cannot change what has gone by and we do not know what is in store for us but we can live our today with all our energy, focus and happiness so that we do not regret our past hereafter. If we do our bit today the way, it is supposed to be done then we need not fear our tomorrow. Our present, if lived well, will serve as pleasant memories tomorrow. Yet, when we are in the grind all this logic fails us. If appearing for an exam, we feel queasy thinking of our past failures, we perspire thinking about what is going to happen if we fail this time and in all this thought and worrying we do not do the only thing we can and must do and that is prepare for our exam. The Bhagavad Gita says that we ought to do our Karma without worrying about the consequences. We will get what we deserve; all we need to do, is work sincerely and diligently.
“In every life we have some trouble, when you worry you make it double, so don’t worry, be happy…” this line by Bobby Mc Ferrin from the movie “Cocktails” captures the basic truth of life. So, let us stop worrying and start living!
