The Musical Journey
Have you ever stopped in the middle of activity and viewed your surroundings from outside of it? If you have, you would have felt what I always feel- a sense of rhythm.
As if proving my thoughts, I switched on the TV and got glued to a movie called “August Rush” which was a reflection of this very same rhythm. It was a story about the musical journey of a boy in search of his parents, to whom he felt a musical connection to. An orphan who believed that he would eventually be reunited with his parents, through music. He turns out to be a child prodigy who hears music in mundane drilling or hammering or plain walking and with no training in music whatsoever, he works his way up to giving a concert of his very own compositions at a prestigious event where he is reunited to his parents (who are musicians in their own right). While that certainly was a miracle and a touching one at that, life may not be so much of a drama, yet, it is true than there is melody all around us.
“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.”
